About Chu Taylor

Matthew Riles, known in the music business as Chu Taylor, was born and raised in Bessemer, Alabama, a small city near Birmingham. His journey as a music artist began early when he participated in the Youth Choir. As a child, he explored various genres and even joined a rap group that his aunt organized. At 19, he enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving his country while dedicating his free time to writing music. 

After transitioning from his military career, Chu Taylor decided to pursue his music career seriously. Each song he releases is a reflection of his personal story. When you listen to his music videos or singles, you can feel the passion, truth, resilience, and emotion he pours into his work. For him, this is more than just entertainment; it’s about sharing his story and inspiring his audience. 

Now residing in Eastern North Carolina, Chu Taylor lives with his wife and children, who keep him grounded as he continues to thrive as a music writer.
